The Barauni refinery in Bihar, one of the oldest refineries of India, is being expanded to increase its crude processing capacity from six million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to 9Mtpa (BR-9 Expansion). Apart from boosting the crude processing capacity by 50%, the expansion project will also enable the refinery to produce fuels meeting India’s Bharat Stage (BS)-VI quality standards.
The scope of work for this project included design, manufacturing, testing and supply of Aviation Turbine Filters (micro filters) installed upstream of ATF Product Tanks. The 10 µm micro filters are installed in carbon steel housings. Both the filter elements and housings were manufactured inhouse.
