Marlim Azul is a 565MW gas-fired power plant constructed in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was developed by Marlim Azul Energia, a joint venture (JV) between Mitsubishi Power, Shell and Patria Investments (Patria). The investment in the construction of the plant was around $2.5bn. It was built to feed 510MW to the national grid, while the remaining generated power was to be sold in the open market. The Marlim Azul facility has been powered by Mitsubishi’s M501JAC gas turbine, which is claimed to have an efficiency of more than 64% and reliability rate of 99.6%.
The scope of work included Basket Filters and Self-cleaning Filters complete with all the specified accessories, ancillary equipment and associated documentation. Factory acceptance test included electrical performance testing to ensure fit for use readiness at site.
